Simcox Field at John Carroll Stadium - San Diego, Ca
The San Diego Tourism Authority describes San Diego’s North County as “a vast, expansive region known for its pristine beaches, natural preserves and miles of open spaces.” Whether it is Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff By The Sea, Encinitas, Carlsbad or Oceanside, “the North County coastline is a string of unique picturesque seaside villages that have a small town feel.” Oceanside is the northern- most beach community in San Diego County built around a 6- mile stretch of beaches. Oceanside is a great central location as it is easily accessible to San Diego County, Orange County, Riverside County (Inland Empire) and Los Angeles County. Oceanside is a fantastic town with a culture and identity all its own. It has a vibrant downtown district and a proud military tradition due to its proximity to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. Oceanside residents have a strong civic identity and a deep sense of loyalty that elicits fierce community pride in Oceanside High School football. It is a true Friday Night Lights experience that rivals the best high school football traditions in the country. A big part of this experience is the home venue, Simcox Field at John Carroll Stadium.

Oceanside High School has a rich athletics tradition and an unbelievable history of success with its football program. The Oceanside Pirates have competed in twenty- two straight CIF San Diego Section Semifinals and have 13 Section Championships (and two state championships) to show for it. For more than 100 years, Simcox Field at John Carroll Stadium has borne witness to this incredible on- field success. Simcox Field at John Carroll Stadium is an Oceanside landmark. It is an events venue that is steeped in tradition and appears in the memories of generations of Oceanside residents. Renovated in 2010, Simcox Field at John Carroll Stadium now has venue amenities to pair with this rich history and a facility to further propel the Pirates to continued on- field success. The stadium now features a new synthetic turf football field and 9 lane rubberized track surface. A new stadium lighting system has replaced the shadowy old lights and new bleachers (seating for 2,650 spectators) elevates event attendees for a much better view of the game. Below the grandstand sits a new 10,000 square foot multi- purpose structure that houses locker rooms, weight rooms and team meeting rooms. An additional grass playing field was installed next to the stadium and a new 60,000 square foot plaza was “developed to organize and accommodate approximately 4,000 spectators.” The combined sports facilities at Oceanside High School make for a great host venue. Simcox Field at John Carroll Stadium is an excellent events rental option for single games, track meets, tournament and seasonal field sports (football, flag football, soccer, rugby, ultimate frisbee, field hockey, track & field and lacrosse).
