San Marcos High School- Knights Center - San Diego, Ca
The San Diego Tourism Authority describes San Diego’s North County as “a vast, expansive region known for its pristine beaches, natural preserves and miles of open spaces.” Whether it is Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff By The Sea, Encinitas, Carlsbad or Oceanside, “the North County coastline is a string of unique picturesque seaside villages that have a small town feel.” Just to the east is San Marcos. San Marcos is an established but booming community! New neighborhoods, shopping districts and hotels are springing up all over. One of the keys to this explosive growth is the revitalization of San Marcos High School. The school was completely reconstructed around the idea of a multistory campus built around a central quad to create a more collaborative and collegiate learning environment. The campus remodel included the creation of a new Athletic Center, the Knights Center.
Badminton, Basketball, Body Building, Boxing, Cheerleading, CrossFit, Dance, Dodgeball, eSport, Fencing, Film Shoot, Floor Hockey, Functional Fitness, Futsal, Gymnastics, Hackathon, Indoor Soccer, Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Karate, Martial Arts, Public Speaker, Sumo, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Wrestling/ Grappling, Yoga
The Knights Center at San Marcos High School is a beautiful three- court gymnasium. Construction was completed in 2014, making the Knights Center one of the newest gymnasiums in the county. Knights Center is also the "largest high school gym in the region" with seating for up to 3,100 spectators. Additionally, the gym has two large scoreboards including a drop- down video screen and automated court dividers between all three courts. The Knights Center features a premiere parquet floor, similar to the Garden in Boston. The Athletic Center surrounding the Knights Center is state- of- the- art and includes athletic offices, locker rooms, classrooms, athletic training room, weight rooms and dance rooms for the cheer and dance teams.
