Long Beach City College Large Gym - Long Beach, Ca
Long Beach is a fantastic city that doesn’t get the attention it is due. A city all its own, Long Beach is distinct from the hustle of LA but still close enough to benefit from the regional assets a large metropolis provides. Long Beach has the ease of a beach community and the grittiness of a port town which gives it a sense of place… a sense of community. A fixture of the Long Beach community since 1927, Long Beach City College (LBCC) is one of the largest community colleges in California and it has a well deserved reputation of excellence. The reputation exists because of LBCC’s learning and experiential history but ealso xtends to include the successful athletic programming.

Long Beach City College (LBCC) is a Long Beach mainstay with a history going back to 1927. LBCC is now one of the largest community colleges in the state and serves a robust and diverse student population. The Long Beach City College Vikings have a long history steeped in success and tradition. Throughout its history, LBCC's 18 intercollegiate athletic programs have won 16 national titles and 89 state titles. The Long Beach City College Gym is a great event space. With seating for 2,500 spectators, it is a perfect size for a wide range of athletic events and competitions. The seating layout includes floor level retractable bleachers and two tiers of bleacher sections above that to create physical separation; a benefit for establishing different ticket prices and packages. With the floor bleachers pushed in, there is enough room for two basketball courts or two volleyball courts. The second level bleachers also retract to create additional activity space that is terraced about the main floor. This is an amazing event space for basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, martial arts (jiu jitsu, karate, taekwondo judo, MMA, etc.) It would also work very well for less traditional athletic programming like eSports, drone racing, hackathons, trade shows/ expos, etc.
