East of Oceanside in North San Diego County is the diverse and scenic community of Escondido. One of the oldest cities in San Diego county, Escondido has a great downtown that maintains the “right mix of small town friendliness and big city buzz.” Escondido also has some tremendous sport events venues. Neighboring the North County Fair mall and San Pasqual High School is a municipal sports complex comprised of Kit Carson Park (ball fields, playing fields and disc golf course) and the Escondido Sports Center.

The Escondido Sports Center in North County San Diego is a wonderful sports complex with a really fun and unique mix of venues. The Escondido Sports Center features two full- sized roller hockey arenas, under roof and complete with dasher boards, scoreboards and bleacher seating. There is also a full- sized soccer arena and "mini" soccer arena both with artificial playing surfaces. The physical heart of the center is a 22,000 square foot freestyle skate park which can also be used for BMX and scooter riding. Across from the Escondido Sports Center is the Kit Carson Amphitheater- a dynamic space with fixed and lawn seating for up to 3,000 spectators. In combination, the Escondido Sports Center is a great venue for indoor soccer, futsal, lacrosse, roller hockey, skateboarding, freestyle BMX, functional fitness (CrossFit), cheerleading and martial arts programming.
